A diverse, yet unified organization of homeschooling families who work collectively and cooperatively to provide encouragement, support, resources, classes, fieldtrips and both social and educational activities and opportunities to its members and their children. We are working to build a fellowship which recognizes each member's valuable contribution. Our operation is based upon mutual respect, member initiative, and a democratically based decision making process. We acknowledge a responsibility to one another, as well as to our local community. We will allow our group to evolve as our enrollment, and our children, grow.

Wildlife Rescue Inc. of New Mexico (WRINM) presentation – Live Animals!
Please come join AHL at Heights Community Center for a wildlife presentation by Wildlife Rescue Inc. of New Mexico. Friday, May 23, 11 am to noon. If the weather is nice, it will be in the interior courtyard, so please bring hats and sunscreen.

WRINM is a local organization that rehabilitates and releases to the wild injured and/or orphaned wild animals that are found by the public. Sometimes, animals are unable to return to the wild. In these cases, they use the animals for educational programs like this one. They will be bringing an assortment of live birds (hawks, owls and the like) to show us and teach us about their biology, adaptations, their place in the food web, migration, etc.

The cost of attending this program will be $5.00 per family, paid directly to WRINM. (The money goes to help purchase the supplies they need to care for and rehabilitate the animals.)

Please RSVP to this thread or to hmich@thuntek.net by Monday, May 19th.

Heights Community Center Directions: I-25 south to Lead/Coal exit. Go to 2nd traffic light which is Coal. Turn left, you're going east. Turn right at Buena Vista. This is the first traffic light after the walk bridge light for CNM. We are 823 but because the building is an historic sight the sign is teeny weenie. We are the only adobe building located on the west side of the street. We're on the first block of Buena Vista after you turn from Coal, but it's a long block. We have parking on both the north and south sides
