Why should you activate your private message options?

This message board is a public forum. You do not have to be registered to the board to view messages, other than in Teen Talk, and you do not have to be known to register and post messages, other than in Teen Talk.

Because auto-bots can scan public boards for email addresses to spam, it is best not to post your personal email address on the public boards. But, there may be another member of this homeschool community who would like to send you a private message, which is housed on this board, but can not be viewed by anyone other than you.

So, here's how you activate your private messaging:

Click on "my account" in the upper, right side of your screen.

Click on the "preferences" tab.

Place check marks next to “enable private messaging” and “notify by email when you receive a private message”.

(If you fail to ask for the email notifications on private messages, you will likely never know one was sent to you.)

In the bottom right hand corner click "save".
